Driver in Fatal Tracy Drunk Driving Accident Faces Charges
A Tracy man who was involved in a fatal rollover accident that killed one of his passengers will face charges of felony vehicular manslaughter.
The California Highway Patrol has confirmed that it will ask the San Joaquin District Attorney to seek a felony vehicular manslaughter charge and misdemeanor charge for driving under a suspended license. Forty-four year old Horace Booker was driving a Mercedes when it lost control. The car flipped over at least 6 times. The twelve-year-old passenger in the front seat was ejected from the car. He was declared dead at the scene. Another child in the back seat as well as a female passenger in the car were seriously injured in the crash. Both children in this accident were not wearing seat belts.

Los Angeles Police Department Cracks Down Heavily on Drunk Drivers over Super Bowl Weekend
Super Bowl Sunday has come and gone, and for the Los Angeles Police Department, it was just another day at work, cracking down on intoxicated drivers. The City’s police officers did not disappoint, and were out in large numbers on Sunday. Officers conducted saturation patrols across the city to arrest drunk drivers.
Accident Lawyer Alert: Riverside is No.4 on “Most Drunk Cities of America” List
Years of anti drunk driving campaigns and other efforts do not seem to have had much impact on at least three California cities that have made it to a list of top 10 drunkest cities in America. A survey conducted by Men’s Health magazine lists the most intoxicated cities in America, and three California cities are Fresno, Riverside and Bakersfield.

Camp Pendleton Marine Sentenced in Fatal Newport Beach Drunk Driving Accident
A Camp Pendleton marine will send 15 years in prison for causing a drunk driving accident in Newport Beach that killed a doctor and seriously injured his wife.
On the day of the crash, February 22nd 2008, Lance Corporal Elijah Leigh Ferguson was driving a car home to Santa Ana, Orange County. He had been drinking, and had planned to sleep off the alcohol at the marine base, but changed his plans. His friends tried disparately to prevent him from driving home in an intoxicated condition by taking away his keys. However, later that night, he bullied a private into giving him the keys and began to drive off home.

Man Sentenced to Twenty Two Years in Fatal Ventura Crash
A Ventura County man who was involved in an accident in 2008 that killed 5 of his passengers, has been sentenced to 22 years in prison.
In 2008, Gerardo Villa was driving a car with 5 other occupants. He was driving under the influence and was also on a suspended license when he veered across the center lane and crashed into a power pole. The 5 passengers were ejected from the car, and died at the scene of the crash. The victims ranged between 23 and 43 years of age. Villa suffered minor injuries from his seatbelt.

New Year’s Drunk Driving Accidents Kill 20 People in California
According to the California Highway Patrol, at least 20 people were killed in auto accidents across the state over New Year’s holiday.
Out of these 20 deaths, 6 occurred during a 12 hour window beginning on 6 pm on the 31st of December. Of these, at least one death occurred in Orange County from a car accident in Orange. A sixty-two year old Costa Mesa-resident seems to have lost control of his car and crashed into a utility pole. Police are speculating that a medical condition may have caused the accident.

Sixteen People Killed in Auto Accidents in California over Christmas Holiday
The hoilday seasons usually show a dramatic spike in the number of intoxicated motorists on the road which leads to an increased number of alcohol related car crashes. This year’s Christmas season followed the same trend, it seems. There were more than 1,400 people arrested for driving under the influence across California during the holiday weekend.

Santa Clara County Police Conduct Anti Drunk Driving Campaign with a Difference
Santa Clara County police have started an anti drunk driving campaign with a difference to warn holiday motorists about the dangers of intoxicated driving. California drunk driving accident lawyers are always encouraged when they see innovative new strategies adopted by law enforcement agencies to get the “don’t drink and drive” message out effectively. Fliers and pamphlets can do only so much to drill the message home. So, last week a Santa Clara county sheriff’s captain and detective engaged in a live demonstration of how dangerous it can be to drink and drive.

Motorcyclist Killed in Drunk Driving Accident in Carlsbad
A motorist from out of state was killed in Carlsbad, California in an alleged drunk driving accident over the weekend.
The accident occurred at abut 1:30 on Saturday morning. Two motorcyclists were stopped at a red light at an intersection. According to WBZ TV, one of the motorcyclists was struck by a car driven by Poway-resident Keith Roles. The motorcyclist was killed, and Roles has been arrested. The motorcyclist was visiting from the Cape Cod Area.

Assembly Passes Bill Mandating Alcohol Sensors in Cars to Prevent Drunk Driving Accidents
