An Escondido man has sustained serious injuries in an attack involving pit bulls. The victim Tom Atkinson says he was jogging in his gated neighborhood in Escondido, when the two pit bulls attacked.

Bakersfield Child Injured in Dog Bite Attack
A little child in Bakersfield is recovering from the trauma of an attack by a stray dog at his school. The victim was a 7-year-old boy.
According to Bakersfield Now, the attack occurred at the playground at Sandrini School. Animal control officers found the dog in the cafeteria after the attack. The little boy sustained serious injuries that required surgical treatment. The stray dog entered the school campus by crawling underneath the gate. According to the school, the boy approached the dog, at which point the animal attacked him. The dog then ran off, and Bakersfield animal control officers chased it until it was finally located near the cafeteria.

Contra Costa County Cracking Down on Dog Bite Attacks
The city of Hercules in Contra Costa County is taking steps to crack down on pit bull bite attacks after two recent attacks injured a woman and killed her dog.
On the 20th of August, two pit bulls attacked a woman and her Yorkshire Terrier. The dog was killed while the woman suffered bites and scratches on her arms. The two pit bulls were deemed dangerous, and were euthanized.

Missing Dogs Raise Concern of Dog Bite Attacks in Santa Cruz
Animal Services in Santa Cruz is looking for three dogs involved in two separate vicious dog bite attacks in April. On April 27th, two female pit bulls killed a poodle on Calabasas road in Watsonville. That same week, a man was bitten by a Mastiff-Rottweiler mix in Pleasure Point.

Anaheim Man Stabs Pit Bull in Defense Against Attack
A pit bull attack in Anaheim on Tuesday night ended somewhat unexpectedly, when the husband of the woman who was being attacked stabbed the animal, and killed it.
Douglas Perry and his wife Vicki were walking their dogs near their residence when a black and white pit bull suddenly appeared on the scene. According to the couple, there was no warning of the attack, and all Vicki knew was that she was suddenly being dragged by the leash she had her dog on. When she saw the pit bull, it was biting into the throat of the couple’s Siberian husky breed. When she attempted to rescue her dog, the pit bull attacked her hand. Perry, who had the couple’s other dog on a leash, let it go so the dog could have a chance to escape from the pit bull. That turned out to be a big mistake because the pit bull ran after the smaller dog and attacked it. Perry ran to a neighboring house, and grabbed a kitchen knife. He ran back out on the street, and stabbed the pit bull in the chest a couple of times. The pit bull died at the scene.

Dog Attack Victim’s Family Waits for Settlement
13-year-old Daniel Decembre should be looking forward to his teenage years and boisterous times with his friends. Instead, the young boy can never visit friends, he has them come over instead. The looks of horror and fright on the faces of people around him when he steps out of the house have turned this child into a social recluse. To get to know Daniel, onlookers first have to get past the sight of his face, scarred from a pit bull attack, with scar tissue on one ear and the other one missing.
