Richmond Woman Killed in Hit and Run Bicycle Accident
A woman who hit a 42-year-old bicyclist in Richmond, leaving her to suffer another accident with another car a few minutes later, has turned herself into police, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

South Pasadena Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident
A South Pasadena man was killed in a pedestrian accident when he was hit by a car being driven by an 86-year-old motorist. Christy Lizzoli was walking on the crosswalk heading back to his home, when he was hit by a Cadillac driven by Renata Rathmann. Lizzoli was taken to the hospital where he died from injuries sustained in the pedestrian accident.

Drunk Driving Statistics, Fatalities Down this Holiday Season
On an average, the state saw fewer fatalities from car accidents and fewer arrests for drunk driving over the holiday season this year, as compared to the same period in 2007.

$1 Million Bail Set for Driver in I-5 Freeway Accident
A few weeks ago, we had reported on the tragic accident of Good Samaritan Kaydee Campbell who was killed when she was offering medical assistance to a motorist in distress on the I5 freeway. The driver, who was responsible for the accident that killed the 20-year-old nursing student, has now had his bail set at $1 million.

Drunk Driver Causes Multi Car Accident in Santa Barbara
A suspected drunk driver rammed his car into a California Highway Patrol vehicle as wall as a Jeep that was stopped on Highway 101 off-ramp near Santa Barbara.
A patrol car had stopped a Jeep Cherokee by the side of the road when a Toyota Camry slammed into the patrol car, which in turn was slammed into the Cherokee. The driver of the Cherokee was taken to the hospital after she complained of neck injuries as a result of the impact. The Toyota’s driver too was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. The driver was apparently driving at 40 to 50 mph, and when he got out of the car, it was obvious that he was drunk, officers at the scene said.

Martinez Day Care Shut Down After Sexual Abuse Arrest
A day care center in Martinez, California has been temporarily shut down after a sexual abuse incident involving the man who ran the center, and an 8-year-old girl in his care, the Contra Costa Times reports.

Woman Killed in San Jose Pedestrian Accident
For Debi Dee Parsons-Mason’s family, it’s going to be a dark Christmas, after her death in a pedestrian accident in San Jose on Friday night. According to Mercury News, Parsons-Mason was struck by a truck as she was walking back home with her teenage son.

Los Angeles Doctor in Road Rage Bicycle Accident to Stand Trial
A motorist who seriously injured two bicyclists in a road rage related bicycle accident in Los Angeles will soon stand trial in the case. Christopher Thompson, a physician, will face one felony count of reckless driving causing injury and two felony counts of battery with serious injury, in the accident that took place in July, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Longer Truck Work Hours May be Here to Stay
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has drafted a new rule regulating the number of hours a truck driver can work in a day, but critics say that the rule that sets the same number of work hours as an earlier rule does nothing to help prevent the rate of truck accidents in the country.

Good Samaritan Killed in Orange County Car Accident
Helping a motorist in trouble proved fatal for a 20-year-old nursing student who died in a drunk driving car accident on the I-5 freeway over the weekend. Kaydee Campbell was the daughter of Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Craig Campbell, and was in town on a winter break from Indiana where she attended nursing school, the Orange County Register reports.
