There has been a variety of children's product recalls that have been linked to a number of hazards, from strangling and choking hazards to head injury and fall hazards.

There have been a string of children’s product recalls recently that San Diego defective product attorneys would like to draw attention to.  These recalls have been linked to a number of hazards, from strangling and choking hazards to head injury and fall hazards.

Kentucky-based Bella Bliss has recalled approximately 2,300 children’s pajama sets because they did not meet federal inflammability standards, and could pose a potential burn injury hazard to a child.  These two-piece cotton pajama sets were sold online, and at retail stores around the country between January 2008 and June 2011.  So far, there have been no burn injuries reported with the use of this product.  However, children must stop using the recalled pajama sets immediately, and return the product to the retailer for a refund.

Build-a-Bear has also recalled more than 19,000 teddy bear swimwear sets that come with inflatable inner tubes, because of the potential hazard that the tubes can be pulled right over the head, raising the potential risk of trying elation.  The company has received at least one report of an incident in which a child pulled her inflatable tube overhead, and was not able to remove it easily.  The recall involved Fruit Tutu Bikini swimwear set for teddy bears, and was sold between April 2011 and August 2011 nationwide and at retailers.

Kiddieland Toys Ltd. of Massachusetts has recalled approximately 12,000 tricycles.  The recall includes about 39,000 Disney Princess Strikes.  These were manufactured in April 2011.  The recall is linked to a potential hazard when a child falls on the plastic fairy protruding from the top of the handle. The company has received at least one report of a child who suffered lacerations near her eye.  Kiddieland is advising consumers to stop using the tricycles immediately, and contact the company for a free replacement handlebar which does not pose a potential laceration hazard.

One of the most important recalls recently has been a children’s bicycle helmet recall.  The recall includes approximately 30,400 child and youth bicycle helmets.  These have been recalled by a New York-based company Triple 8 Distribution.  According to the company, the bicycle helmets did not meet Consumer Product Safety Commission standards for impact resistance.  In other words, these bicycle helmets could place users at a serious risk of injuries in the case of an accident or impact.

If a person falls off the bicycle when he is wearing the helmet, he could be at serious risk of head injuries.  These are not actually bicycle helmets, but general use helmets that can also be used as bicycle helmets.  The Little Tricky helmet was sold between August 2006 and November 2011.  The company is asking consumers to stop using the product immediately, and contact the company for a refund.
