San Diego Rollover Accident Kills Two Persons

Deadly rollover accident occured on the 805 on-ramp.

Two people were killed in a rollover accident in San Diego when their vehicle drove off an Interstate 805 ramp. There were four people in the car at the time of the crash and a 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old were killed in the crash. The two other women in the car also sustained injuries. The car seems to have flipped over several times, and the male driver and a female passenger were ejected from the vehicle. Both of them died at the scene. Neither of them were wearing seat belts at the time.  The two other women who were wearing seat belts survived the crash. Their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

4 California Farm Workers Killed in Van Rollover Accident

Van Rollover AccidentFour California farm workers were killed in a tragic van rollover accident near Coalinga this week. According to the California Highway Patrol, there were seven farm workers in the van. The accident occurred on Interstate 5.  The van driver seems to have lost control of the van after the vehicle struck road debris believed to be a wheel rim. The van flipped over several times. The 21-year-old driver of the van and two passengers were injured. One of the passengers was seriously injured, and had to be taken to a hospital. Four of the farm workers in the van sustained fatal injuries.

Toyota has issued another recall, and this time it’s a Lexus Recall. Last week, Consumer Reports magazine announced that their tests had found a potential rollover risk in the new 2010 Toyota Lexus GX 460. According to the magazine, the vehicle had a tendency to slip sideways when the driver lifted his foot off the gas pedal, increasing the risk of a rollover. The magazine had issued a “Don’t Buy” warming for the new Lexus.

The family of an 11-year-old boy who was killed in an SUV rollover accident in Riverside after a tire blew out, has been awarded $18 million by a California jury. The retailer that sold the family the tire, American Tire Depot was held liable in the boy’s death.
