According to data by the Consumer Product Safety Cushion, more than 200,000 people are injured every year in pool accidents, and these injuries are serious enough to require medical attention.  Additional data by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that 10 people die every day in unintentional drowning incidents.  That is not even counting the number of people who die in boating accidents every year.  Out of these 10, at least two fatalities involve children below the age of 15.
