Wal-Mart Slip and Fall Accident Victim Awarded $15 Million in Damages

A jury in Colorado has awarded $15 million dollars in damages to a truck driver who suffered serious spinal injuries in a slip and fall Wal-Mart accident just outside the store.  The woman, a contract truck driver was making a delivery to the store during the accident.

Women above 60 at High Risk of Death after Suffering Hip Fracture

According to the International Osteoporosis Foundation, every year, there are 300,000 fall accidents recorded in the U.S., 75% of them involving women.  The results of a new study that has been published in the Archives of Internal Medicine prove the serious dangers facing women in this age group from unsafe premises.  Women above the age of sixty are at least twice as likely to die within a year after suffering a hip fracture, compared to women of the same age with no fracture.
