Any Los Angeles motorcycle accident attorney knows that wearing a motorcycle helmet can substantially reduce a person’s chances of suffering serious or fatal injuries in an accident.  For this, however, it is very important that the motorcyclist is wearing a helmet that is approved by the Department of Transportation.  Unfortunately, novelty helmets have become increasingly popular, even though these are not approved by the Department of Transportation.  Now, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is targeting manufacturers of these novelty helmets by tightening helmet certification and labeling requirements.

California Motorcycle Accident Results in Five People Being Killed

This horrific accident took place on the scenic highway 98.

A recent California Motorcycle Accident occurred and turned fatal. Five people, including four motorcyclists and a sedan passenger, were killed in a horrific crash involving 12 motorcycles in el Centro in Imperial County this week. The accident occurred Monday just east of San Diego. A Dodge Avenger swerving to avoid a Honda Civic rammed into the group of 12 motorcyclists. Four motorcyclists and a passenger in the Dodge Avenger sustained serious injuries, and were airlifted to the hospital. Unfortunately, five people died in the crash. At least six other motorcyclists also sustained injuries in the collision.
