DOT Releases New Bus Safety Measures

Schoolbus Company Recalls Nearly 4,000 Vehicles Due to Fire Hazard

School bus maker Bluebird Corporation has announced a recall of approximately 3,900 schoolbuses because of a fire hazard.  This week, the company informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it was recalling the 2004-6 Vision buses.

NTSB calls for Use of Technology to Prevent Bus Accidents

The National Transportation Safety Board has called for the American bus industry to implement new technologies, to prevent serious accidents like the one in New York last month that killed 14 people.  While electronic stability control systems and collision warning systems are a staple feature of many automobiles today, the bus industry has failed to equip vehicles with life-saving accident prevention technology.

Murietta Man Seriously Injured in Los Angeles Party Bus Accident

Party Bus Pedestrian AccidentA Murietta man is in a serious condition after sustaining injuries in a pedestrian accident involving a Los Angeles party bus.  The 22-year-old man was trying to catch the bus on North McFadden Place at Yucca Street when he was struck by the bus which was turning southbound.  The victim ended up underneath the bus, and sustained serious injuries.

Church Bus Crash in San Bernardino After Drifting Into Opposing Traffic

Church Bus AccidentNew reports indicate that the church bus that was involved in a horrific accident in Arrowhead earlier this week had drifted off the yellow line and into opposing traffic just before it crashed into a car driven by an off-duty fire officer.  Investigations into the accident that killed the bus driver and injured 23 passengers are still on.

One Person Killed, 10 Injured in Arrowhead Church Bus Accident

Church Bus AccidentMembers of a Korean church group are still mourning the loss of one person in a deadly church bus accident in southern California over the weekend.  The bus had been carrying members of the church group home from a weekend retreat in Southern California to their homes in Pasadena, when the accident occurred near Twin Peaks.

One Person Killed in Salinas Fatal Bus Accident

Fatal Bus AccidentA fatal bus accident in Salinas involving a bus and a pickup truck left one person dead. According to news reports, the accident occurred at a Salinas intersection, and involved a Monterey Salinas Transit bus and a pickup truck. The victim was a 61-year-old man who was driving the pickup truck.   The bus driver and three passengers on the bus were also injured in the accident.  Salinas Bus Accident Lawyers are currently reviewing the case.
