Lowe Gas Grills Recalled because of Fire and Burn Hazards

California product liability lawyers are drawing attention to a recall of gas grills because of a fire and burn hazard. The gas grills were sold at Lowes nationwide.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced that importer LG Sourcing Inc of North Carolina is recalling about 663,000 gas grills in the United States. The recall has been announced because the burners can deteriorate, causing irregular flames. The lids of some grill models can also catch fire. According to the company, it has received about 40 reports of fires from deteriorating burners, and 23 reports of lids catching fire. In at least one case, the person suffered an eye injury that required surgery, while the firm received 21 reports of minor burns to the hand, arms and face.

Report Shows Drop in Burn Injuries in Children

A new report on burn injuries has some encouraging news.  According to the report published in the October issue of the journal Pediatrics, the number of American children who suffered burn injuries because of hot water, electrical appliances and chemicals, has decreased significantly. That’s the good news. The bad news is that California burn injury lawyers keep coming across too many of these serious injury cases.

Mission Viejo, California Propane Tank Explosion Causes Burn Injuries

The summer barbeque season is well and truly upon us, and the Fourth of July is juts a few days away. Amidst all the grilling that’s going on, a propane tank explosion in a home in Mission Viejo is serving as a reminder about the dangers of propane gas tanks. Although there is no confirmation as to the cause of the explosion, there seem to be indications that defective installations or manufacture could have been a factor.

Mother of Girl Burned in Park Receives Settlement from 2nd degree burns

The mother of a 5-year-old girl who was severely burned at Jackie Robinson Park in Stamford, Connecticut has reached a $500,000 settlement with the city and a local city contractor.

2nd degree burnsThe settlement relates to the incident in August 2004, where Sofia Silva was burned when her dress caught fire from a spotlight at the park. As the little girl’s dress caught fire, a woman, stopped in a car at a red light outside the park, noticed the sparks and rushed to help the girl. Other people at the park, including a group of soccer players and Sofia’s father, helped extinguish the flames, but by then Sofia had already received severe  2nd degree and third-degree burns.

Resident Killed in Westlake Apartment Fires

It was a terrible day in the 700 block of the South Westlake Avenue in Los Angeles, California, that suffered a series of apartment fires.apartment fires A fire that began in the apartment of a 58-year-old resident, killed him and displaced at least 11 other residents. In all, two children and nine adults have been displaced from the 10-unit building. Seventy-one firefighters had to be pressed into service to bring the fire under control. Luckily for the residents, the flames were contained in the apartment where the fire started.
