Can you imagine a military jet smash into your house?

A man in University City has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the United States and Boeing in the death of his wife, two daughters and mother-in-law in a plane crash in 2008.  In December 2008, Don Yoon’s family was in their home in University City when a Marine Corps jet crashed into the home. Yoon’s wife, his two daughters, including a 15-month-old baby and a newborn, and his mother-in-law, were burnt to death.

A nine-year-old girl was thrown out of an amusement ride at a carnival at the California Mid- State Fair in Paso Robles.  Fortunately, the girl only suffered minor injuries.  The girl had been sitting in the car on the Super Himalaya ride, when she was flung from her car.

Bringe drinking is on the rise for college students.

The incidences of alcohol use among the general population have declined over the past few years, but the rates of drinking among college students have actually increased over the same period of time.  College drinking and binge drinking are huge problems that contribute to several alcohol-related teen accidents every year.  In 2002, the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism issued its recommendations to curb drinking in colleges.

Intoxicated Driver in Fresno Bus Accident – Confirmed

The California Highway Patrol is continuing its investigations into the accident involving a bus on its way from Los Angeles to Sacramento last week.  Investigations have now revealed that the driver of the SUV that the bus struck before it crashed, was an intoxicated driver, under the influence of alcohol.

It has been one of the worst summers that California swimming pool accident lawyers have seen in recent years.  Halfway into the summer and there has already been 210 drowning and near-drowning incidents involving children across the country.  All of these were swimming accidents.  The numbers have been serious enough for the Consumer Product Safety Commission to intensify its programs to enhance pool safety and prevent such swimming accidents.

The CPSC has issued a recall notice for the Nap Nanny Baby Recliner.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission and a Pennsylvania-based baby product manufacturer are announcing the recall of approximately 30,000 Nap Nanny baby recliners.  The recall comes after the death of a four-month-old girl from Michigan.  The baby had been sleeping in a recliner that was placed in a crib.  She was found hanging over the side of the recliner between the recliner and the side of the crib.  She had been secured with a harness at the time of the accident.

Deadly Concord Dog Attack, Leaves Owner Arrested and 3 Pit Bulls Euthanized

3 pit bulls were euthanized after this deadly attack.

A man has been arrested and three dogs have been euthanized after the fatal mauling of a two-year-old child in Concord last week.  The man was the step-grandfather of the two-year child.  The attack involved the family’s three pit bulls.  The child was apparently attacked when he walked into the garage, where the dogs were kept.  There’s no information yet on why the dogs attacked, but the animals severely mauled the child.  He sustained fatal injuries.

Driving While On Drugs Increases Accident Risk

Driving While on Drugs
The New York Times has a report on the increasing risks of accidents of driving while on drugs. Ironically, around California and the rest of the country, there has been a decline in the number of alcohol-related crashes that occur every year.  This decline in the number of drunk driving accidents has also been named as a possible factor in the continuing decline in highway accidents.  However, there has been an increase in the number of motorists driving under the influence of prescription drugs.
