Yuba City Woman Killed in Truck Accident

More FDA food safety tips have been released. Every year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately 325,000 have to be hospitalized for food poisoning illnesses. Nationwide about 5,000 people die every year from food poisoning complications.  The Obama administration has made clear its intention to crack down harder on food safety issues. However, according to the Food and Drug Administration, consumers can do much to ensure that the foods they eat are safe.

California Office of Traffic Safety Adds Distracted Driving to Its List of Safety Concerns

The California Office of Traffic Safety is concerned about distracted driving. California’s laws against distracted driving are not as tough as injury lawyers in the state would like them to be. The penalties are far too light to force people to switch off their cell phones before driving. However, the fact is that California has been far more proactive in dealing with the problem of distracted driving than many other states around the country. It was one of the first states to ban text messaging while driving, and was also one of the first states to ban the use of hand-held cell phones at the wheel.

A dog attacked a 19-year old San Juan woman who suffered injuries. The woman was walking down a street, when a loose dog attacked her. There is no information about the owner of the pit bulls that attacked, and no charges have been filed yet.
