Minnesota Baby Killed in Dog Bite

FDA Says Avandia Linked to Cardiac Injuries, Recommends Pulling Drug off Market

If every person on anti-diabetes drug Avandia right now were to switch to a less risky alternative, there would at least 500 fewer cases of cardiac arrest and 300 fewer cases of heart failure every month. Those statistics come from a Food and Drug Administration report, which has been published by the New York Times.

Glaxo Issues Warning about Effects of Zinc in Denture Cream

With lawsuits from zinc-related injuries related to denture cream mounting, GlaxoSmithKline has now decided to issue a warning about the serious heath effects of using the products, if not used according to directions. The company has also announced that it will take immediate and precautionary measures to stop manufacturing the adhesives that contain zinc, because of concerns that these could have long term health effects.

Three Telsa Employees Killed in Small Plane Crash in California

February 19th, 2010

Employees at Tesla Motors are mourning the tragic death of three of their co-workers in a plane crash near Palo Alto yesterday.

According to news reports, the plane was on its way to Los Angeles from Palo Alto.  The twin engine Cessna 310 crashed soon after take off. The plane struck a power tower, and one of its wings was clipped off. The wing fell on a nearby residential structure.  Three employees, who have not yet been identified, were killed. However, there were no injuries on the ground. Residents in nearby areas however had their power supply cut off. According to news reports, the plane took off in foggy weather conditions.

Bicyclist Killed in Fatal Accident in Covelo

A bicyclist has been killed in an accident in Covelo.  According to Redwood Times , the bicyclist was riding a 21-speed mountain bike.  He seems to have veered into the path of a car being driven by woman. The bike struck the car, throwing the rider off his bicycle and on the windshield of the car. He was thrown into a nearby drainage ditch.  He sustained fatal injuries, and died at the scene of the crash.
