About Derek Pakiz
Derek Pakiz is the litigation supervisor and lead trial attorney for The Reeves Law Group. Derek obtained his undergraduate degree from UCLA, and his law school education from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. Since the 1980s Derek has practiced exclusively in the field of personal injury law, representing victims of other people’s negligence and wrongful acts. Derek has worked on thousands of cases and handled hundreds of mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
In 2006, Derek was awarded the Diplomate Accreditation from the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. This is a distinction awarded to only about a hundred plaintiffs’ lawyers nationwide. He is also a member of the Melvin M. Belli Society, an organization of pre-eminent trial lawyers nationwide that grants membership by invitation only.
The focus of Derek’s work is on catastrophic injury cases, including traumatic brain injury, paralysis, amputation, and wrongful death. Derek has obtained a large number of significant case results, including jury verdicts in favor of his clients in the seven and eight figures.
